Torrents have an emerging reputation as the North West's most exciting young band following a succession of assaults on venues all across the UK.
From Manchester to London (With the Rifles) to Sheffield (With Bruce Foxton and Rick Butler of The Jam) and to Scotland (Wickerman festival), Torrents continue to thrill with their enigmatic, crowd drawing live performances.
They have been awarded the accolade of Unsigned Band of the Week by Steve Lamacq (BBC Radio 6) and have received the support of 2-tone ska legend Pauline Black (The Selecter) who later recorded with the boys at Vada studios with Matt Terry (producer of The Enemy).
Torrents have also gained clothing endorsements with Nicholas Deakins and iconic mod brands Fred Perry and Merc.
Fans, media and the music industry itself have taken to the pure and natural "take no shit, you are it" attitude which they have become renowned for during their short time together
Its only just the beginning, the days, weeks and years to come are bright, exciting and more importantly... successful.....nothing less!
The band are due to go to record at Sandhill Studios in Liverpool for 3 days at the end of October so make sure you check back for new recordings. It should be a very exciting time.
“Meaty and emotive indie” NME
"Torrents, I love Torrents" Steve Lamacq (2009)
“That was good... nice and rawcus guitar rock which I'm a big fan of, it's great!" Mani (Stone Roses/Primal Scream)
"This caught my attention! Apart from this, the band look like they’ve got a nice set of haircuts…"
Steve Lamacq (2008)
“A Certain Girl is the best song I’ve heard in a long time” Pauline Black (The Selecter)
"(Torrents) bring a welcome energy and change of pace with their uptempo Jam-meets-Libertines ditties. They jump, sweat and gesticulate onstage, clearly enjoying themselves immensely...their energy is infectious. They can boast a charismatic frontman in Neal Burton and a vicious wall of guitars that evoke the angry young man thrashings of one Paul Weller."
