----------------The New Touch was introduced to the specialty toy & educational market in 2001. Since it's introduction, it has earned sixteen awards from many prominent & respected organizations, and has also been highly rated by AblePlay.org, a non-profit organization that independently rates toys for special needs.----------------------------------
--------------------The New Touch game has been designed for the whole family, ages 5 and up, although younger children can also play, provided they are supervised. In addition to The Touch being a highly interactive educational game for families & schools, it is also beneficial to players with special needs. Playing The Touch develops fine motor & visualization skills, while challenging memory. Adults & children can play in 'friendly competition', on an even playing field. Kids especially love the instant reward of collecting the pieces and parents will appreciate the educational fun facts about each piece. -------------
-----------------The basic objective of The Touch game is to identify & collect the educational pieces, using tactile perception (touch). The game is played with the play pieces placed inside the play container and the cards set up around it. (Beginner or younger players can start with using onnly have the cards & pieces, adding more, as they learn the touch skills and become more familiar with the pieces.)Players spin the indicator ring, selecting a card with the red indicator arrow. They then set the built-in timer and reach in to feel for those pieces, as others players watch through the patented observation window. Players can play in 'teams' and give 'hints' to guide each other to the pieces. Anythime aplayer collects a correctly identified piece, they set it aside in their 'pile of wins' and lay stake to that card, giving them the opportunity to search for the remaining piecves on that card on any future turn. Additionally, on each turn the players spin for a new card, which allows them to feel for whatever is on their new cards, as well as add to the sets they have already started, increasing the chances to collect! When a player collects all the pieces on a card, they earn the card & score double points. The game is won by the player with the highest point score.
The New Touch game offers a 'no-assembly' format for convenient 'out-of-the-box' play & storage. The game includes an innovative play container, featuring a lighted observation window, built-in timer, self-adjusting hand opening and built-in spinner indicator. It comes with a full starter set of 49 highly detailed play pieces and 20 corresponding theme cards, with 'Fun Facts' on the back, for additional learning. Expansion packs of additional theme sets of cards & pieces keep The Touch expereience evolving.
