About me:

I've spent the night in Castle Dracula in Romania, gone undercover as an underwear buyer in Bangladesh, played PlayStation in Kosovo, taught an island village to play baseball in Honduras, and in another life, worked as a SCUBA instructor in Key West, Florida.
I'm an author and a freelance journalist. My first book Where am I Wearing?: A Global Tour to the Countries, Factories, and People that make our Clothes will be published by Wiley and Sons in November of 2008. My freelance work has appeared in the Christian Science Monitor and on NPR, among other places.

Who I'd like to meet:
The people who made the rest of my clothes. I've met the people who made my favorite shorts, blue jeans, underwear, flip flops, and T-shirt and they were pretty darn interesting.
The shrimpers who catch the shrimp I eat.
The banana pickers that pick the bananas I eat.
The lobster divers who catch the lobster I eat.
Anyone anywhere that supports my no-sewing, no-farming self.
