Artist of the Year and Best Dance/Electronica Artist in last year’s Musicoz Awards – The Transients – release their debut EP Crossfades. Known for creating catchy melodies with tight polished production, Robert Maszkowski and Béla Inkster dish up everything from pounding gritty basslines, to feel-good pop songs and laidback percussive instrumentals.
Co-produced and mixed by Lee Groves (Goldfrapp, Depeche Mode, Bertie Blackman) the record also features the vocal talents of Jasmine Yee, previously of Perth indie band Halogen and guest on Pendulum’s Hold Your Colour.
The Transients, both graduates from the WA Academy Of Performing Arts (WAAPA), started making music together in 2006 and in a short time period have been achieving amazing things.
They were nominated as Best Live Electronic Act in the WAMi Awards 2009; uncharTED top 50 finalists (2009), Garage To V finalists (2008 & 2009), Garageband ‘Track Of The Week’ (2008); Future Music Magazine ‘Demo Of The Month’ (2008); feature artists on MySpace (2007); and finalists in the WAM Song Of Year (2007).
They have continued to rise in the live arena too, playing at the Summadayze, Good Vibrations and Parklife festivals, and supporting bands like Walter Meego, Van She, Muscles, Grafton Primary, ELF and Dukes Of Windsor.
