October 28th, 2008 - The wheels on the van go round and round...
Round and round, round and round , the wheels on the van go round and round all night long ! Hitch hiker Not seen one of those bad boys for a long time, saw a good few on the road in the U S of A, but they’re pretty few and far between in a Kingdom as United as this one… I wonder why that is, I’m sure when the car first hit the road, when petrol was at an all time low, there were more hitchers than this, thumb size not significant! But it’s just a thought, just thoughts, just busy roads…
October 27th, 2008 - Rolling To Leeds
Yes Indeed Jo, It does work. Looks like were playing for 90 minutes tonight, thats a comfy 5 songs.HaHa. Spirits couldn’t be higher in the Band Bus(van), were all ready to do this tour. A bit wierd that were all so excited, considering we have pretty much been on tour since the band was formed! Feels good i think mainly because we have copies of our album just here, its a great feeling to finally have it ready, its taken a lot of people, a lot of love, and a lot of coffee. xxxxUnder the Pavementxxxx available at a gig near you x
Manchester 6 Piece, The Travelling Band take influence from folk, county, psyche and rock before filtering it through their own sunshine-POP sensibility. On their debut album, Under The Pavement rarely has a British band of recent times sounded this fresh and timeless, here is a band who excel at sounding happy, sad, frustrated, and vulnerable, often at the same time, and their best songs, whether they're fast or slow, feel like they're bursting with energy and wisdom.
Winners of the Glastonbury New Talent competition 2008, The Travelling Band's live show is a feel-good tour-de-force. Swapping instruments, inspiring audience participation whilst shifting effortlessly from hearfelt ballads, through psychedelic sing alongs to classic pop tunes, their's are shows where no-one leaves unconverted.
Great to meet you at Glasto and to hear your stuff. Only waiting is great - the video looks like Old Grey Whistle Test or something! The art work on your page is great, too.
I hope all is well and good and I just wanted to let you know I've just put up a new track called ECHO so I thought you might want to have a listen. :o) It's just the instrumental version I did not long ago but I do have a full section of vocal to arrange into this track so I'll keep you posted on the outcome! :o)
I appreciate your time and support and any comments posted.
