"The soulful fury of this talented three-piece, the Travis Larson Band, washes the stink of the recording industry’s lame offerings out into the gutters while unleashing it’s unique brand of instrumental rock fusion (think of a musical stew mixing a thick brown Rush gravy with big hearty chunks of Steve Morse and a dash of Jeff Beck).”
With four records and a full-length performance DVD, the award winning Travis Larson Band is firmly rooted as one of instrumental music’s premiere acts, having worked on record with Steve Lukather (Toto), Victor Wooten (Bela Fleck), Vinx (Sting, Herbie Hancock), Hugh Syme (Rush, Aerosmith) and having shared live billing with Ted Nugent, Los Lobos, Elvin Bishop, Steve Morse (Deep Purple, Kansas), and Bill Bruford (King Crimson), to name a few. Comprised of Travis Larson (guitar), Jennifer Young (bass), and Dale Moon (drums), TLB’s complicated phrasing, impossible timing, and seamless flow cause some to suspect that the band must surely operate from only one, albeit enormous, brain.
Aided by endorsement relationships with Ernie Ball/MusicMan, Electro-Voice, Digitech, Randall, Ampeg, Gretsch, and Sabian this tiny band with the big sound has found its way into the festivals, theaters, clubs and music stores across the nation, not to mention the traveling 53-foot tractor-trailer truck tours and music industry events. Well known for their live performances the Travis Larson Band delivers full throttle rock fusion that soars with originality and mercilessly hooks an audience like a freshly sharpened gaff through the unsuspecting brain of an Arctic Cod.
What ever the Travis Larson Band may lack in predictable synthetic beats and squeaky prepubescent voices, they more than make up for in ass-whoopin’, soul-boosting, brain-bursting guitar music and good ol’ fashioned talent.
Will do, yo! When you get a handle on when & where y'all will be playing, let me know. I'll send you guys my email address & celly number via a more private & secure means. If you're walkin' around the show on Friday or Saturday, stop by the ISP booth & say howdy! Also, I'm playing at Slim's in San Francisco tomorrow night (Thursday) with bay area metal band Warning SF, so if you're in the area, come on in!
Thank YOU guys for such a killer show in Modesto!! I'll tell ya, UFO was good, but I could've watched another hour or so of you guys. Killer music, killer show!!! And, Jennifer is my new favorite bassist bar none! I'm hoping to see y'all at NAMM in January. If you're playing somewhere, I'll make it a point to be there (Digitech, right?). I'll be playing some at the ISP Technologies booth on Friday & Saturday, so if you're around, come by & say howdy!
Come back to Portland, I'm sure your style would go over very well here. Steve Kimock does extremely well and Johnny A. People seem to like instrumental guitar here.
You guys were awesome last night at the the Ventura Theatre, had a great hang and great show. Was an honor to share the stage with you guys. Take care and we hope to see you soon.
Kewel, that you got to work with Steve! Hope to see you next time at Hertlien Guitars. Had a chance to listen to "Above The Numbers" yet. You guys are busy and just about to end your tour, now it's time for some leisure! Randell M
What a great Sunday! I go to Sam Ash and get to meet and talk with way cool folks. Then I get to see you perform great music - me sitting front row center. After the show I win a free Electro-Voice PL44 mic ($99+tax at Sam Ash). Then you guys all signed your live CD that I bought. I had just band for the first time on a video playing at Sam Ash the day before that was advertising the free show.
If I could sing that high, I would be doing Triumph. Of course, I would be spending all my time putting a band together. It was an experience seeing you guys. It would be even better sharing the stage with you anytime.
Its not what notes you play, but where you play them.
