Hi Simon, Can't remember if I replied to your comment at the beginning of Dec, it's been a bit busy for me so apologies if I didn't! Freckle are no more at the moment, our singer has a new job so we can't reherse at the mo, so will see what happens in 2010. Katy is good, she's throwing all her efforts into her new venture so I'm sure that will be a huge success for her. I think 2010 is going to be the start of new things for everyone.... and hopefully when The Trees come up to the Midlands!!!!! heh!!!! There will be a bag of orange chips waiting for you!
Hope you are all well in The Trees camp and I am certainly looking forward to the new delights that you have in store for us all.
You guys are awesome ... Love all you do and more please.. LADIES AND GENTS you can converse with this fantastic band on our site where a community is building.. http://www.reputationlabel.com Join us there and make a noise..
Just listened to Jackets For Snowmen - more great stuff from The Trees! The main drum beat took me completely off guard when it first came in (in a good way), and the overall more-keyboardy-than-normal instrumentation is carried off superbly. But then the big solo takes over and everything is typically Treesy again. Another song from you guys where I wish we'd got there first! ;-)
Yeah, you heard correctly: I've not been well recently. Not just a hanger-on, but a one-thing-leading-to-another case; as long as I take things easy, though, I should be back to "full fitness" in the new year. I aim to be back in action on Last.fm by then. :-)
The bizarre thing about CD Baby is that after three months they were saying there was nothing they could do and they had a huge backlog and anyway it's all the fault of the download companies; then after three months, one week and some strong e-mails, our album mysteriously start appearing everywhere! It obviously got lost in the pile and no-one noticed until I brought it to their attention. Why they had to invent all sorts of silly scenarios is beyond me. Still, it's led us to shift distribution to Bandcamp:
Hey Trees, cool track!much happier than my Christmas offering
some fantastic sounds going on there giving a lush full sound of the late sixties.
Hope we can record some stuff together one day...
Christmas lights (btw selfless promotion) it's free to download off reverb if you want it!
I get delivery of my cd's tomorrow! i'm so excited! they have been replicated and shrink wrapped, nice art work and booklet all irsc codes and upc! it's taken longer to do the manufacturing and design than it took to record the damn thing!
Working on a bunch of new tracks now for a follow up, not recorded yet because i'm thinking of switching to mac and logic to give a different sound. Also going to add harmonica, ukulele and sitar among others to the next album.
http://rock.warmwebradio.com/#home Catch TheTrees on tonight's show. From 2100-2300 CET. Or 2000-2200 GMT. Worldwide listeners will need to check their clocks with these timings. The show is hosted by Sussilo. But she's too modest to say so. I'm not, modesty doesn't do when this great lady. Gives her all to getting great lesser known artists heard. Please bring all your fans/friends with you. The show is really worth listening to. Thanks to all that do from Mike.
