''First up, and is that Vincent Price's younger cousin on stage? Nope, it's the blogging legend that is Parsley! Kitted out in a velvet blazer, tonight he tinkers away away on his keyboard with the casual look of a man doing the Sunday crossword - the old pro.
Around him are a band, of course - and a bloomin' ace one too. The Trick Noise Makers are fronted by a girl that looks like a Blue Peter presenter from 1978; Lousie Howlett is a great frontwoman who not only sings with full bodied confidence - but also lets rip on some excellently chaotic guitar solos.
The group perform the kind of 1960s garage rock songs that wouldn't seem amiss in the soundtrack to Tarantino's Death Proof, with the occasional diversion into indie-pop melancholy. Of the latter category, 'Why Did You Cut Me' is the band's masterpiece; it's like a lost Pulp B-side with a surf breakdown. Complimented by a rhythm section that echoes Keith Moon and Peter Hook, The Trick Noise Makers are genuinely impressive - and it's always a treat to see Parsley jump into the crowd to do the can can.''

The Trick Noise Makers began life at the tail end of the nineties wasteland where their spikey, angular and angsty punk pop garage sound was a little out of step with the times. Bass player extraordinaire Alan Walshe ( The Nadsat Set, The Voyd, The Afterglow, The Soul Disciples) & drummer Greg Pugh (The Voyd, the Afterglow, The Froffs) were veterans of The Clarendon pub in West London, and home of Mike Spensers infamous club "The Garage".
Louise Howlett (Guitar, vocals, songs and erstwhile member of The Surrounds, The Subterranean Highs) was a frustrated novice with a battered Rickenbacker 350 and a handful of roughly hewn songs. They came to meet through divine intervention, in the form of a classified ad in "Loot".
The first "professional demo was recorded at Liam Watson's Toerag studios in Hackney. Then followed a rash of gigs from Bournemouth to Romford (where the lads were nearly ejected from the venue for wearing dinner suits, accused of aping the bouncers style).
The band caught the ear of Pete Wild, aka "Speed" of Nottinghams Circle Records, fine purveyors of mainly rare unreleased 1960's psych and garage/beat recordings. A double A side single was recorded for The Trick Noise Makers debut vinyl single release "Feel Good Words"/"Pick Me Up, Put Me Down", but sadly a bone shattering motorcycle accident put Alan in crutches for a prolonged period, and the band were unable to promote the release. A promo for the song "Feel Good Words" can be seen in the videos sections here...
Walshey was put back together again and must be one of the few bass players on thre scene with a double hip replacement. Last year the band recruited a fourth member ..boards/hammond, Andrew Ralph Godleman (aka "Parsley") well known in certain circles as lead singer of Dutronc and hammond player/svengali with theme tune outfit "The Adventures of Parsley"). Parsley is something of a band polygamist, playing with the former as well as The Solar Flares, Billy Childish & the Blackhands, The Herbs, Orson Blake, The Dee Rangers, The Quakers, The Silhouettes, The Dilemmas and more).
Thankfully Circle were patient, and a record release is now on the cards again, as well as a mooted "mini tour" of Japan...Other works in progress include a cover of "Nothing Rhymed" for a charity anti-bullying album, in tribute to Gilbert O' Sullivan.
Lots to come, so watch this space for future gigs releases etc.The Trick Noise Makers Feel Good Words Add to My Profile | More Videos
