…They’re a band.
TRICORE have an identifiable style of their very own. An important trait shared with many influential bands, past and present. They excel at being both alternative and memorable. Over the years they have crafted a sound that sets them apart from the infinite throng of bands around today. Whether that’s a positive or negative thing remains subjective but it’s a fact and one they pride themselves on.
Tricore have always had an overwhelming desire to create music that remains individual and true to themselves as oppose to following the latest scenes & trends. Diversely influenced by various bands of the nineties their focus has always been on creating strong hooks, awesome melodies and powerful riffage.
They serve the songs above all else. Whether through technical prowess or simplicity it’s the songs that matter along with a constant desire to refrain from having any fixed boundaries. There has to be strong definition that runs through all core songs so they always sound like Tricore tunes.
Tricore play down tuned heavy music that’s complimented with unforgettable melodies. It’s a style that definitely has broad appeal and has secured the band airplay on several radio shows including Total Rock & Kerrang.
The original band was formed by Chris Kerley in 2001 under the name Unbound in Woking, UK. The band has gone through a merry-go-round of members ever since, only really stabilizing in 2008. The name was switched from Unbound to Tricore in 2006 and was originally going to be an experimental instrumental act. By 2007 Chris had learnt to sing and drum simultaneously and the band decided to introduce vocals into the set.
The band has had two main releases. In 2007 they released their first e.p “Unbound” which is available at shows and through Itunes. And in 2009 they released their debut album “Less than man, more than rabbit” with the CD being available at shows, online and through Itunes.
QUOTES
“Highly accomplished in terms of playing and production”
“There are some nice surprises, in particular the daft punk-style vocoder part in the title track, which is a real masterstroke” - Unbound E.P, Chris Korff, Sound on Sound
“I think they’re fantastic. I thought that track was absolutely brilliant (Retro). There was a great ending to a fantastic track that was great throughout.” - Thekla, Total Rock Radio
“It’s great! It’s bouncy and it’s got a robot voice in it. There’s not enough robot metal I say. (Unbound)” – Johnny Doom, Kerrang Radio
“The syncopation, precision, domineering and overall band command is quite impressive”
“There's a nice punch to the production, engineering and mix execution.
Those elements preserve and support material's integrity”
“There's definitely a real appreciation for the classics displayed here,
yet just as much of a Slipknot savagery” (Fyrom)
“Rippin' right out of the gate! This cut means business and it's a no holds barred takedown” (Speeder)
“Another brutally classic thrash opening salvo. A double bass steamrolling
so consistent that you could lay on it's flattened wake of destruction” (Xhibish) – Less than man, more than rabbit, Taxi A&R
