Rocking St. Louis and beyond since early 1995, The Trip Daddys have gained a reputation as one of the midwest's hottest live acts. Consisting of Craig Straubinger (aka Craig Daddy) on guitar and lead vocals, Dennis Williams on drums and backing vocals, and T.J. Morrissey on bass, The Daddys have no plans for slowing down.
In their decade plus, The Daddys have played all over the U.S. Delivering a unique brand of punk/rockabilly tinged rock n roll, and an incendiary live show the band have developed a cult folllowing. Some notable events outside of their hometown would be opening for Brian Setzer and X at The House Of Blues in Chicago, opening for Hank 3 in Nashville, TN and playing three day roots/punk/rockabilly events such as The Heavy Rebel Weekender in Winston, Salem, N.C. and The Greasarama in K.C. MO., to name a few. They've opened twice for Mr. Rock N Roll himself, Chuck Berry, at The Duck Room in St. Louis. Other noteworthy acts they've played with include Dick Dale, Nashville Pussy, Wayne "The Train" Hancock, Karla Thomas, The Bottle Rockets, Mojo Nixon, Oliver Sain, Lee Rocker, Jason and the Scorchers and Th' Legendary Shack Shakers. Craig Daddy has even been hired to front legendary Stray Cats drummer Slim Jim Phantom's band for shows in St. Louis and Green Bay, WI.
Locally, The Trip Daddys have literally played every St. Louis area club that features original music, from large rooms such as The Pageant and the now defunct Mississippi Nights to underground favorites such as Off Broadway and The Hi Pointe. In 2005 The Trip Daddys set the record for attendance at The Wayout Club, selling out the bands 10 year anniversary show. No small feat considering that the club has only been sold out three other times since it's doors opened in '94. The band has won numerous (yes, numerous!) hometown readers polls, including an unheard of six-year run as St. Louis best rockabilly/rock n roll band in The Riverfront Times.
With a growing back catalog of cd's, not to mention a live dvd, The Trip Daddys continue to preach the rock n roll gospel at home and on the road.
If The Trip Daddys roll into your neighborhood, don't miss'em. They rock!
