The Trips are striving to build upon a successful 2008. To name but a few highlight’s; they played the Indigo Bar at London’s O2 centre, reached the semi final of the Emergenza battle of the bands competition, and made a shortlist of seven bands chosen by industry professionals (such as Andrew Hollow, Glastonbury stage manager, and ex-Stereophonics drummer Stuart Cable) to battle for a support slot with the legendary Status Quo. The band has recently completed a 5 track EP with established producers such as Glenn Skinner (Fame Academy and other previous chart success) and up and coming Brighton based producer Win Stanley. Also, the EP was mastered by Pink Floyd’s Grammy nominated engineer Andy Jackson. The Trips are a highly professional band who are serious about their music, and this is demonstrated by the fact that they also gig at least once a week as a hardworking covers band in order to self-finance their EP’s and first album. Not only does this help to finance the band, but ensures that the band are playing a huge number of live shows and establishes them as one of the most exciting up-and-coming bands on the circuit. One of The Trip’s most important attributes is their ability to produce top quality indie/rock songs. The song writing partnership of brother’s Martin and Jamie France continues to produce an abundance of commercial songs, and the amount of sheer energy and excitement shown on stage by the band always produces an electric live performance!
So what’s next for The Trips? In 2009 the band aims to release their first album and build upon their recent radio airtime.
