We are in the process of closing a deal with Genius (co-owned by the Weinstein Company) for partial distribution rights, and are entertaining offers for other distribution platforms. The film also recently signed with sales rep David Garber who sold the Charlize Theron indie hit MONSTER and MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING.

'HIGHLY RECOMMENDED'
"The Trouble With Romance" (Gene Rhee, USA, 88 min.)
An extraordinarily engaging, well-written and creatively filmed romantic comedy comprised of four stories set in hotel rooms on the same floor...
...Rhee's feature debut is in some ways a textbook for how to make a great low-budget feature: Start with a really good, tightly written script, hire some terrific, trained, hungry actors and shoot it economically on small interiors. For an audience, it's a winning combination.

Director Gene Rhee follows up his award-winning, hilarious THE QUEST FOR LENGTH (Sundance ’02) with a much different, equally provocative feature film. In this atypical comedy about sex and relationships, THE TROUBLE WITH ROMANCE presents a quartet of vignettes on a disparate group of Angelenos exploring the challenges and heartaches that come with falling and staying in love.
Each story follows the inhabitants of different rooms in one hotel on the same evening. In the bathroom, a young woman looking for closure has an emotional conversation with her hallucination of an ex-lover, all while her new boyfriend waits behind the door. Down the hall, a husband and wife attempt to spice up their sex life, leading to unforeseen and jarring consequences. Simultaneously, a bumbling boyfriend commits the ultimate faux-pas by inviting his stoner buddies to celebrate with him and his girlfriend on their special night, resulting in a madcap adventure to win her back. And in a separate suite, a young man’s first encounter with a call girl teaches him why we still yearn for love despite the trouble with romance.
Infusing his film with a steady visual flair, director Gene Rhee has a lot to say about romance, breaking up, moving on and simply trying to recognize when you’ve found the ONE. With crisp pacing and terrific performances, Rhee’s feature debut is heart-breaking in its sincerity and emotion. The film smartly complicates its initial set-ups with fresh twists and turns, each of which reveal more and more about the nature of love, and the ever-changing desires of the heart.
