    The True Gents were formed by Euan Nicol and Tobe Jeffery in 2006, meeting up in the mystical woods of Invermay, Perthshire and working on songs late into the day. Their music eventually caught the ear of local veteran music producer Robin Wynn-Evans (Manic Street Preachers, Sam Brown, The View, Dodgy), who promptly brought them up to his T-Pot studios to record. The CDs from those sessions received warm reviews, and the line-up expanded steadily, gathering local musicians such as Gordon Duncan (son of legendary piper of the same name) and multi-instrumentalist Ross Ainslie (Salsa Celtica, Dougie Maclean Band, Treacherous Orchestra) and a further development of their own unique sound, with influences ranging from folk and indie to sea shanties and psychadelia. .. The True Gents EP was released independently on CD and digital distribution in September 08' and has received positive reviews in the press and media, followed with extensive Touring venues, pubs and festivals around Scotland, sharing the bill will groups such as Shooglenifty and The Levellers.
