Douglas: Acoustic/electric guitar, lead guitar, bass, keyboards, harmonica and drums.
Influences
Ryan Adams, Shooter Jennings, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Social Distortion, R.E.M. (well the old stuff anyway), Counting Crows, Nineteen Wheels, Simon and Garfunkle, Bob Dylan (again, the old stuff), The Indigo Girls, Lou Reed, Son Volt, Hootie and the Blowfish (aww...don't even say it...ignore the overplayed stuff and give the rest a chance), Rancid, The Refreshments, blah blah blah (not a band just the end of my rant for now)
Support your local independent musicians wherever you are and check out these bands: 19 Wheels, Truckstop Coffee, Thursday's Child, The Starlings, Jeff Stewart...
Not sure it will help but for search purposes former bands I was in: Dimestore Prophets, Edmund F. and Freight.
Sounds Like
Well...I guess if Shooter Jennings was driving across the country in a dusty old RV with Johnny Cash riding shotgun, Michael Stipe and Peter Buck from REM were playing cards in the back with Mike Ness from Social Distortion and Ryan Adams and Billy Bragg were taking a nap in the bunks, and they all wrote a song about it...it might sound like The Truffula Seeds.
While members of The Truffula Seeds (Cleveland) have since gone their separate ways, former frontman for Edmund F., The Dimestore Prophets (both Toledo) and The Truffula Seeds has kept the name and sound alive. The songs posted here are all songs previosly performed by the band back in Cleveland but have been recorded in Surfside Studios in South Florida by Douglas. Midwestern Town, the new CD has been delayed (as most recordings go...taking longer than expected) but should be out soon. The CD will be unique in the fact that all songs here and on the CD will be performed by Douglas alone. The CD is produced, recorded and all intruments done by one man. We hope you enjoy the retro, garage vibe that Midwestern Town has. Drop us a note and let us know what you think.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by and listen.
