Experienced, bloody good keyboard player wanted. Auditions at The Premises by arrangement. Interested? Then please point us towards some examples of your music. Serious enquiries only.
Influences
Wow, a difficult one this. Pretty much anything and everything from early blues through the Stones and Bill Withers and on towards Gordon Haskell. Dr Hook, The Blockheads, James Taylor, Sting...The Beatles are certainly in there somewhere as well. Georgie Fame and Alan Price must figure highly.
This list will no doubt change drastically over the coming minutes/days/weeks!
Sounds Like
Well, we're definitely a 'grown-up' sound. A 'London' sound...
Paul Tully, and Mike (Dog) are currently 'The Tullys'. A recent incarnation of some not-so-recent musicians. We are looking for a bass player and a keyboard player! The Tullys sound itself is lyrically-driven; happy, electro-acoustic loungesque music. There are definite shades of TV theme tune, cabaret band and 70s singer/songwriter in the mix somewhere though. Lots of the numbers are certainly 'love songs'. Poems set to music maybe. Oh yes, the cheese should be considered homage-flavoured!Having said all that, anyone who's heard us cover 'Route 66' or 'Little Red Rooster' will have no doubt that a blues/rock band shares the same stage. The rough audio samples here are live cuts (through the desk or one-mic-and-minidisc) so forgive the 'typos' and desk noises! If you subscribe to the blog, or email us and say something nice, we'lll send you a free sampler CD with full versions of these and another couple of tracks, and some more practice/rehearsal cuts.Paul is the primary songwriter and lead guitarist. Check out some utube video footage of us here. All the band contribute to arrangements. The band is available for cool gigs; corporate events, birthdays, weddings, barmitsphas (I've always wanted to say that!). So if you like our sound drop us an email. We usually play mostly original numbers but can include a few reworked covers (Beatles, Stones, Bill Withers, and so on). We can turn our hand to pretty much anything so if you have specific numbers you'd like included in a set we're happy to discuss it.
We are looking for a keyboard player and a bass player, so if the music interests you and you have samples of your live work, please do get in touch. Auditions will be at 'The Premises', by arrangement. We are also open to agent/management offers, and Paul specifically is always happy to discuss publishing deals.
"Struggles & Lulls", the brand new album from Joan Coffey, is available now on ITunes
'a voice that can enchant. Coffey's vocal chords deliver liquid gold with a divine Irish lilt.' FATEA Records 'charming and honest'. Time Out 'Joan's music exudes a warmth, humility and truth that is rare to find in singer-songwriters these days'. Thea Gilmore

Hey Guys, thanks for the comments in the blog. It was a good evening. I think they eventually threw our friends out about midnight, mind you I was at home eating toast by then. If you need a support ever, just drop us a mail. I also probably know who your "mad" fan is.
