Welcome to The Tuning Spoon, a central Connecticut-based audio and media production facility owned and operated by freelance recording engineer and web designer, Michael Spooner. I specialize in recording, mixing, and editing work for independent musicians and organizations, as well as web design and development.
I love music because it is such a powerful medium, capable of communicating emotions and truths that cannot be conveyed solely through words. I have been studying, playing, and recording music since age 13, and graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia Web Design & Development with a specialization in Sound Technology and a minor in Communications from the University of Hartford. I have also worked doing live productions in the area, especially for Trinity Covenant Church, including the popular Christmas musical that draws thousands annually.
My current rate for all services is highly competitive at just $25.00 per hour. I work locally and over the web, so send me an e-mail if you'd like more information or to talk about getting a project started.
wow, i haven't heard dusk in about two years. why did we play it that fast... it sounds so rushed.
it's funny listening to those old recordings, and hearing all my stupid production ideas, and how they really didn't work very well.
you did a great job though. speaking as someone who now sits in that chair. it's funny how, back in those days, i actually didn't want to know the technical side of recording. i resisted it. and now it is my life.
how are you? do you have a steady job in audio? cause that would be sweet
