Sounds Like
"Both trippy and vintage, their sound was a good way to jump into the day. Slow, down-tempo tunes provide the soundtrack to an abandoned desert town; reverbed, desert-dry guitar and airy synth organ hang in humid air. Their final song, with guitar backed by sustained key chords and droning second guitar supporting it, sounded sitar-like, while sparse rock drumwork tapped an even beat in the background." - austin sound
"And yet another worthy car is added to the Austin psychedelic trip-train. The Tunnels are Spacemen 3 to The Black Angels' Warlocks/13th Floor Elevators, using a cleaner, more deliberate strum to reach their own blissed-out corner of the cosmos." -spider house
Before your midnight house parties... Come on out to the Ghost Room *EARLY* New Years Eve to celebrate the release of The Sour Notes' new CD 'Its Not Gonna Be Pretty' with The Weird Weeds, No Mas Bodas & Mermaid Blonde.
Hello All, First of all we want you to know that we love you all and we know that you love us back. That is why we are sure that you will do whatever you can to help us with this situation. On Saturday, August 15 we played a show at Red 7 with Quintron & Miss Pussycat, Love Collector and Listener. It was a fucking great show and at the end of the night after hanging out for a while and talking and such we loaded what we thought was all of our gear. After scouring the stage and backstage area with the stage manager we thought we had all of our gear loaded and hit the road. The next day we discovered that we were missing our bass guitar. We called the club and they did have a bass that someone had left, but it belonged to another band that played that night. Not us. So... we are now trying to figure out where it is. It is a brownish, sunburst-y, Fender Jazz Bass. We are offering a reward but you wont know what it is until you can provide us with the bass or some information as to its whereabouts. If you have any leads please write us here or tell someone who knows us to tell us. -Shapes Have Fangs
HEADDRESS :: LUNES in stores Tuesday June 9th
LUNES is the second album by the Texas psychedelic duo HEADDRESS.
Written in the desert but recorded during an endless New York City winter, the album is a dark
meditation on Americana. Guitarist Caleb Coy and organist Ethan Cook sculpt a cold, expansive
sound made ripe for these turbulent times. It’s the blues shaped by the avant-compositions of La
Monte Young and Dylan Carlson. It's drone rooted deep in the American tradition.
