Tyr Floreen was born in Philadelphia, PA and now resides in Fleetwood, PA. He received his B.F.A. in related arts from Kutztown University and was a student of famed session guitarist and former member of Fleetwood Mac, Rick Vito. Tyr began playing guitar at age 7 and has been playing in bands and solo projects since the age of 12. When the Beatles hit the scene in 1963, he was completely smitten by them and has been ever since. Soon after this, he developed a fanatical appreciation for other artists from the 60's era like The Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, The Byrds, The Doors, The Who and Bob Dylan. He had just turned 13 when he had the privilege to take lessons from guitar maestro Rick Vito. This proved to be a life changing experience for Tyr. Mr. Vito continues to inspire him to this day. Rick turned Tyr onto the blues and in short order he began playing music by Eric Clapton, Peter Green, Duane Allman and Mike Bloomfield. Rick helped Tyr gain the tools and ear training experience he needed to embark on his life's musical journey. During his college years, Tyr Floreen was a founding member of the bands Randy & The Plutonians and The Boyer's Junction Special. After college he co-founded the band The Bad Actors with front man, David Moon. The Bad Actors still get together on rare occasions for live performances and David Moon has recently collaborated with Tyr, adding his vocals and lyrical genius to Tyr's new full length CD "Wash Your Blues Away" released in February 2009. Tyr Floreen is currently pursuing his solo career and plays in a blues band with harmonica virtuoso, Bob Hogan and vocalist, Marie DeFilipps.
