To try to nail down direct influences would take a great deal of time......
Eric is influenced by G Love, James Taylor, David Wilcox, Jack Johnson. etc.
Dale has varied influences from Ella Fitzgerald to Merle Haggard, Pantera and Allison Krauss and the Union Station. Tim is the residential metalhead, Dark new Day, Sevendust, Killswitch Engage, Atreyu but also influenced by Sade, Peter Gabriel and Depeche Mode. Quintin is influenced by Kings X, GCS, Cameo,P Funk, Marvin Gaye and Audioslave.
The Ugli Stick has been writing and performing original music for 10 years. While many peers, bands, clubs, vans, trailers, hairstyles and years have come and gone The Ugli Stick has remained true to it’s goal. The goal being to write and perform honest music regardless of what style, genre, image or sonic portrait it may paint. Band members Eric “The Birdman” Erdman, Tim Stanton, Quintin “Q” Berry and Dale Drinkard, Jr., each have diverse individual musical backgrounds and influences while sharing a common love of Rock, Hip-Hop, Funk and Reggae. Each member of The Ugli Stick is an active songwriter for the band which allows the band to blur the lines between different styles of music and create the unique blend that is The Ugli Stick.
Hey! I'm from Montgomery & am a huge fan of yours! I once asked you to play at a bar other than Off the Wagon & you said that you stick with them since they first started letting you play there... WELL, Off the Wagon is closed now, so how am I supposed to get my Ugli fix? Now could you play at another venue? :-) Every year for the past 5 years I have gone to your show the night before Thanksgiving at Off the Wagon. My friends & I are so distraught about what to do this year... I miss Ugli Stick!

Awesome show today guys!! Eric I have always loved you but today you really impressed me. Rain, equipment problems everything yall still had a great show. I was really glad to hear you play Leaving Birmingham because that is still my favorite. I didn't expect to hear it today though, well until I got in my car. Good luck guys and we will see you at Top of the Bay!!!!
