The group’s combination of pop candy and rock Nuggets is pure sock-hop insouciance, made for when the lights get low and all the chaperones have fallen asleep. It appears here to headline a benefit for local East Austin music education program Anthropos Arts—and hopefully to preview songs from a long-promised third LP—accompanied by David Williams’ new Beautiful Supermachines (which kicks up some righteous, if slightly more mannered fuzz of its own on the recent Shut Up) and the Anglophilic mod-punk of The Holy Romans.
