The Ultra Montanes are a 5-piece band based in Dublin, Ireland. They first made an impression on the music scene in 1999, when their eponymously named album was awarded a five star review in Q Magazine. Since then, the band has consistently been at the frontier of Dublin's punk-pop-electro scene, showing their love for dark moods albeit with their trademark glamour and melodic twists. With the new millennium, the until then honorary band member, Austrian keyboardist Mateja Kert, has been added to their full line-up, opening a new way to experimenting with the electro-side of things.
The EP 'Dirty Blood Saved Our Town', released independently by The Ultra Montanes in February 2006, was the long-awaited outward sign of the new direction the band was taking. The EP's lead track, 'Speedwalker', was used for the radio and TV advertisement-campaign for Ireland's biggest music festival, Oxegen 2007. The forthcoming single 'This Party', recorded and mixed by Rob Kirwan, further consolidates the band's new sound – and has already attracted the attention of the man behind Depeche Mode, Andrew Phillpott, who approached the band with an offer to remix the song. 'This Party' and the remix will be released on-line over the next few weeks.
EP press reviews:
The Irish Times: “Dublin band return with new razor-edged sound”
Connected Magazine: “a cracking EP…sickeningly modern”

I just uploaded the two songs that didn't make the final cut for the album. Have a listen. This'll be the last time I put anything up before the album comes out. We're going to master it in Abbey Road on the 11th December!! AT LAST!
Hello My Friend, and our respect for your work !!!
Welcome to our list and thank you for becoming our friend!
The helpless must be protected, and those with no voice of their own must be spoken up for. Those who prey on our children rely on silence, and it must not be allowed to continue! So thank you for adding your voice to ours, together we will grow louder...AND WE WILL BREAK THE SILENCE!!!
I just stuck up two new songs on my page there. After this there are only two more to go and then the whole album will have been put up (not all in one go though, obvioulsy).
Have a listen and let me know what you think. Hope you like them! My current favourite is up there too...
Sorry bout the group mail (despite your name being cunningly added into the first line. How did I do that?)
Anyways, stuck up some new recordings of songs we did in the album session in Electrical Audio. None of the songs are mastered yet and there are a couple of tweaks here and there to be done but I thought I"d stick em up so you could get a listen before the album is released.
I"m gonna rotate the songs on an as unyet decided basis (weekly, biweekly, triweekly even??) and include songs that didn"t make the final cut. Watch out for them...
The songs up now are There You Stand, This Is How We Play and Home.
