About The Unemployed Misfortune

BIO
The Unemployed Misfortune come from Chicago, IL. Their infectious melodies, hook-heavy guitar riffs and fun energy will draw you in immediately! But their unique vocals and captivating lyrics is what really sets them apart.

Their debut album, Fuck Work, is full of sugary charm (Love is Strange, Cheryl Lyn) but also has a venomous side (Am I Bitter?, The Photohrapher from the Film Set Ruined My Life). This is the kind of album you want to blast at full volume while driving with all the windows down. In fact, the album is so sweet it just might attract ants. SERIOUSLY!

They played their first show in 2003 and signed to Creeque Alley Records in 2005. The following year they released an EP to much local acclaim. At the end of 2007, they signed with Japan's Powerpop Academy who released a slightly altered version of Fuck Work. The album was distributed to over 150 stores all over Japan, including Tower Records and HMV. Fast forward to August 2008 and the band released Fuck Work in the US under High Electric.
