   About Unintended
The Unintended formed over the winter months of late 2002 - 2003. DALLAS GOOD, RICK WHITE, and GREG KEELOR shared an apartment in downtown Toronto. Not a home but more of just a place for the time being. Rick and Dallas had been working together for a few years already with Dallas performing part time in Rick's ELEVATOR project, and Rick had recorded THE SADIES a couple times as well as some cover art and lyric collaborations. This experience together gave them a vision of what a real mix of their different but similar styles could sound like. A mutual respect of each others ideas meant that neither The Sadies nor Elevator should change, but a new band must be made. We had several songs sketched out already from many late night winter talks and 4-track demos done at the apartment. When it came time to record it all as an album, it just seemed obvious that the rest of the Sadies be involved and that we would record the album out at Greg's house in the country. We didn't want it to seem like another "Sadies backing someone record", but a different band of it's own where we can all shed our typical roles and concentrate only on how these songs should sound and just let them come out. Whatever felt good. So for three days and two nights in early March 2003 we all stayed out at Gregs and in the old barn board covered room and on a one inch 8-track, around the wood stove, we layed down six of the songs for the album. The next week we finished six more and mixed. The album was done and we finally heard what we sounded like. This album was the first time we all played as one and we were pleased with the results though it wouldn't be until the next year that we would play live. We still concentrate on our seperate projects more than the Unintended but that was the point of it. To make music together that we all really loved but to keep this one of our many seperate entities free. The Unintended should never be work so when we all feel like doing a show we will, and it will retain it's magic and always be special to us. In 2005 we got together once again to record four Gordon Lightfoot songs for a split 12 inch vinyl only release with friends THE CONSTANTINES. We were happy to do the record both because we like the constantines, and the fact that we already knew and loved many Lightfoot songs. We managed to pull together a week of shows as well and had a good time. Greg and Rick also joined the Sadies during the big shows they recorded for their IN CONCERT double live CD. Two new Unintended songs were performed and are included on the CD. As of summer 2007 there has been some planning for an LP 2. We've got about half an album ready to record and lots of demos in the box so as soon as we all find some time it should all fall into place.

PS. our "seperate" bands include: THE SADIES, ELEVATOR, RICKWHITEALBUM, and BLUE RODEO. They are all in the friends section below. Thanks .

Here's a version of "The Light" and "Quiet Getaway" performed live at Call the Office in London Ont. on March 23, 2006.

I really love dark country(or what ever ya call it) and I truly feel that your music, this music, brings all the years of following Alt. country to a cosmic point in time where music takes you down into the depths of your soul and straight up into heavens.
