The Unknown Americans are a four piece Americana band from Boulder, Colorado. Coming from a community based on roots music, what puts The Unknown Americans in its own category is their focus on songwriting while still giving an audience the room to get rowdy and listen. Led by long time Colorado songwriter, Danny Shafer, years of experience go into keeping a musical night simple and straightforward. Bassist, Ken Cambell and drummer, Jon Mouser are a full time rhythm section. We also have Ben Gallagher on piano. Schooled by the songwriting of Willie Nelson, Jerry Jeff Walker, Townes Van Zandt, and Tom Waits, and playing to the style of country rock back to its beginnings, The Unknown Americans have brought their music to audiences all over the west.

You guys were so awesome at the Woodstock anniversary weekend thing .. uhh a few weeks ago somewhere in Colorado.. maybe that doesn't help much but I hope you know which show I'm talking about! I was one of the only people under 50 dancing! and it was fuun!
