"A band that boasts a very full sound led by a singer whose vocal is one of those excellent, almost self-harmonising type of vocals."
Born in Dundee, Scotland in 2007 The Goodnights have already become one of the most talked about bands on the scene. "More Than Anyone" the title of the Goodnights demo E.P has received nothing but praise on all levels and has been described as "A heartfelt slice of superior song writing and arranging” and “More infectious with every play." After the official release of the E.P in April 2008 The Title track went straight to the top of the U.K unsigned bands network chart and stayed at the top spot for 9 weeks voted for by members of the public.
The boys continue to draw large crowds whenever they play due to the easy listening and easy feel that the band produce when on stage doing what they do best and that is performing wither it be to a single person or to a full house.
In the short time they have been together The Goodnights have supported Acts such as The Dykeenies (Twice), Tiny Dancers, John Power, Captain, Parka, Popup and The Foxes.
The Goodnights are proud performers, and have a large audience absolutely captivated by what they are playing and this is a testament to the writing, arranging, playing and singing talents that the whole band possesses.
If you only discover one new band today, then say good morning to the Goodnights.
"This is a band that's writing and playing seriously strong songs for which it would be criminal to ignore".
"The Goodnights are, right now, one of the consumate album-oriented song bands on the scene".
"The Goodnights signal a truely remarkable feat of established songwriting, having only been together for a short time, they show musical maturity earning their status as a rising talent ready to grip domination outside their home territory"
As you may or may not be aware SoundARC hold a charity gig every year at Club 85 in Hitchin in aid of the Garden House Hospice in Letchworth, and this year we are going to try something a little different from previous years.
This year we are going to take over the club and host 37 acts in one weekend putting full bands upstairs and acoustic acts downstairs in an event that we are calling ARCfest!
It all starts on Friday 4th December at 7pm and then continues on through Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th from 12pm-11pm
As well as raising money for the Garden House Hospice in Letchworth, ARCfest will showcase all the different genres of bands that we at SoundARC have come across over the last 4 and a half years. Over this weekend a lot of the acts that you will see don’t get a chance to play a great local venue like Club 85, So as well as hearing new music you will see all manors of genres and styles from acoustic - Metal - Indie - Rock - Punk - Electro - Ska - Funk - Hip Hop/Rap - Alternative - Rhythm & Blues - Reggae - Grunge and loads more that I cant remember!
