Sounds Like
The illegitimate Love-Child of Lisa Gerrard and Zack de la Rocha
"Shocking lyrics backed up by haunting vocals and intense music"
- Daniel Berdak, Danger & Dissonance Radio on WMUC
"De Beauville and Moore can write anything they want to. They have chosen, though, not to give you a listening experience of safe, cliché, radio friendly music, but rather have chosen a specific direction in their song writing, because they have something to bring to the table that is different and distinct."
- Slowdive Music
"This stuff doesn't disappoint - it rocks, it's heavy, yet a little nuanced in spots. All this makes for a terrific musical experience that you have to hear to fully appreciate. You'll like it - we do!"
- Headcase Radio
"For a duo they make an unholy noise with all the aggression of a feral pit bull on steroids. With it's recurring theme of being presumed dead and buried alive '13 Arcane Hymns' should come with a warning to agoraphobics."
- The Devil Has The Best Tuna
"I'm one of the lucky people which have had the privellege to be able to hear this before release - and let me tell you, its going to one hell of a beast."
- Amplified!
"The White Stripes can go fuck themselves, this is how you play as a duo! What The Unravelling do is very interesting, they use a mixture of tactically placed anthemic lines, self-induced chaos, atmospheric intimidation and mood manipulation. When lines like "I'm not dead! I did not drink the wine!" and "Are you...Are you scared?" are uttered by Steve Moore then you feel inclined to let yourself be taken in."
- Dirty Drew's Rock Revolution
"The best way to describe their music is intense - evil if you will. I was reminded of old Priest or even Ozzy after he parted ways with Sabbath, not the music specifically but the same "Is God going to strike me down the next time I go near a Church since I've been listening to this?" feel. EVERY song on this album is killer."
- The Grouchy Gaijin
"There's some jazz influence, metal, even shades of Pink Floyd in there. Excellent stuff."
- Gramie from The Autopsy Report
"The Unravelling are dishing out a massive sound for a two-piece. You know you’re going to get to hear a lot more from The Unravelling on the Playlist Mix."
- Ken McGuire from The Playlist Mix Podcast
"”In The Safe House” isn’t exactly metal. It’s catchy and dark at the same time and it’s a really well arranged song. Their other songs on myspace are well written tracks too. These guys probably have awesome live shows with lots of energy and songs that build and really get crowds going."

"MOVE FORWARD UNTIL YOU ARE DEAD" - The Story of The Unravelling
The Unravelling is a progressive rock band from Calgary, Canada. Inspired by diverse artists such as Dead Can Dance, Tool, Opeth, Nine Inch Nails, Arcana, Jeff Buckley and Dillinger Escape Plan, the Unravelling's music ranges from the engaging and inviting to the aggressive and threatening. A confidante of the band remarked that "The Unravelling sounds like the illegitimate love child of Lisa Gerrard And Zack de la Rocha".
The project's founder and instrumentalist, Gustavo De Beauville, composes and records the music while singer Steve Moore (of Inner Surge & Post Death Soundtrack) writes the lyrics and vocal parts. Having moved to Calgary from Barbados in 2006, Gus spent the greater part of 2007 composing the material for the first album. "Until meeting Steve in the fall of 2008 - I had not met any musicians who were this driven and hungry for progress. He definitely inspired me to be as industrious as I could in the pursuit of music." says De Beauville.
The members are as different as one can envision with Gus being the consummate, ethereal dreamer and Steve being the more grounded in-your-face realist. These two approaches round each other out in a mutualism that seldom presents itself these days. The musical approach is intended to be extremely cathartic, with full disclosure in mind.
The debut full length album "13 Arcane Hymns", a psycho-analytical concept album in the tradtion of Pink Floyd's "The Wall", Nine Inch Nails's "The Downward Spiral" and Faith no More's "Angeldust", is slated for a 2009 release. The album features many reoccuring lyrical themes, particularly the theme of being buried alive and presumed dead, then crawling your way out, and "moving forward". The band has already garnered airplay on a variety of metal and rock programs such as the Autopsy Report, Playlist Mix, Prog'opolis, Rogues Gallery, Headcase Radio and Metal Invasion. In advance of the CD release, music can be heard here at www.theunravellingmusic.com.

Igor Lopes "Em Ruínas" Headbanger Resistance Speed Metal Legions Brazil
Hi! Well, here in Brazil have some good bands, but the majority are cover bands, but still have some good bands. I recomend you the first extreme-metal band (heavy, thrash, black, death) the band is 'Dorsal Atlantica', from here, Rio de Janeiro. Dorsal Atlantica influenced bands like 'Sepultura'... the most popular Metal band of Brazil.
Krisium, is a good thrash metal band and the band it's become popular in Brazil. There other bands, like the 'Gangrena Gasosa' this band is very interesting, because use some folclore elements of our culture, and he plays sometimes Black Metal. Possessonica is an other band from Rio, they play hard/heavy and they're influenced by traditionals heavy metals bands, like Black Sabbath, Judas Priest and others...
A band that have interest you is 'Adrede' a band plays some moderns styles, like Hardcore and New Metal and have compositions (in portuguese) thats speak about social problems existent here in Brazil.
Raimundos, is a other band that mix new metal, hardcore, and some elements of regionals musica here and estreme/metal and punk rock (they composited in portuguese too)... it's a musical salad, but the band turned a really shit in these times.
Here, there're more bands, but I will try to remember much to ask better your question. Greetings from Brazil. here we speak 'Já basta'... eheheheh!
