The Untied Knot

Bio:

The sound of instrumental duo Nigel Bryant (guitar) and Matt Donovan (synthesizer and percussion) has been described as “pastoral minimalism”, a sound which fuses elements of folk, psychedelic rock and electronic musics. The Untied Knot began as a solo project by Nigel in 2005 with multi-instrumentalist Matt joining soon after to create a fully functioning live unit with a preference for less conventional, more intimate venues.

The album "Sketches For A Lost Summer" was released in 2009 to a warm reception with airplay on BBC6 Music (Freak Zone) and BBC Radio 3 (Late Junction) in the UK, WFMU in USA and Canal Extremadura in Spain as well as receiving a very positive review from independent retailer Norman Records of Leeds.

In April 2012 they were introduced at the Purcell Room in London’s Southbank Centre by Max Reinhardt of BBC Radio 3’s “Late Junction” as part of an audio-visual collaboration between Solus3 and pinhole photographer Jan Dunning.

Second album “Rien n’existe” was released in January 2013 on CD and vinyl following the success of a PledgeMusic.com crowd-funding campaign.
