Influences ? We created this sound , we are the influence!! We draw from all genres though, music is simple it either comes from the heart and moves you or its corperate produced crap with no soul.
Sounds Like
Four chainsaws runnin in top gear attempting to all start and stop at exactly the same time.
Original line-up formed back in the early 80's consisting of four fuck ups from Winnipeg who had a different take on where the punk scene was headed. While the scene of the time was focusing on the tried and true sound and fashion of the English bands and early New York, Norm , Ken , James and Alan were caught up in the sounds burgeoning out of kids all across North America. Bands like Black Flag, Circle Jerks, DOA etc, were throwin down a sound and attitude that was more relevant to these bent teens from suburbia. The boys honed their craft over the years with many line up changes, and a lot of blood sweat and beer. The Unwanted did several tours, put out some vinyl, and established themselves as one of the highest energy combos to ever step on to a stage. Sadly in 1985 bad blood split the group.
Meanwhile in 2006 while hanging the local bar, band originator Norm Simm was talkin about his upcomin b'day with some old school pals. He claimed all he wanted for his birthday was one more Unwanted set. So he put together four of Winnipeg's most dominating stage presences and they went to work. Norm ,Doug, Lance T-bor and Ted ran through some old tapes , put together a wish list of tunes and got to work. Boom it was crushin from the start ,it was obvious this was more than a reunion this was a reformation. The boyz put on their first show on Aug12 '06 and the response was huge, a capacity crowd were blown out their chairs by the ominous power of this quintet with a combined 120 years of punk experience. Now this one time show has become a unit. The UNWANTED are back!!!
THE S&M ERA begins - August 2007. With the loss of Dug Bell on guitar , the Unwanted have gone back to four peice with TED " hardcore champ" Simm on the drums , Lance"I only need one leg to kick your ass" Mackenzie all guitars, Pamdemonium Mackenzie gut rumbling bass , and Normal on cheerleading and vocals. This new cohesive unit plans to unleash thee new sound on Alberta for a quick three city tour . This is just the ground-work to bigger and better things as the Unwanted plan a major tour and CD release in 2008.
Well 2008 has come and gone the tour went great but the CD never transpired. In early 2009 the band convinced Dug Bell to rejoin the Unwanted. With the five piece back together the band has completed an EP . The new EP Reanimated has captured a much more powerful version of the Unwanted and we are shipping it around to labels for distribution. A small tour in August was good but the Unwanted are hungry for a full scale Canadian Assault in 2010.

Steve McMullen came down to their jam with your latest CD which is "BAD ASS, FACERIPPIN' TO THE NUTS!!!!".....Truly a delicious slice of noise boys!!!!!!!!!( & girl!).....the EAST VAMPS is my new band!!! † Thanks for joining the band-site. Hows your summer been going? I enjoyed checking out your site. I'm starting on CD #2 & 3 'Insurrection' & 'Fire'. As well I'll be posting a new song-track soon.
