Considering we are influenced by all of the above, we try to take inspiration from all of them, and turn it into our own unique sound.
We don't concentrate on being genre-specific. We just concentrate on making music which feels right at the time, and hopefully, will feel right for years to come. Not following any particular genre allows us to be as creative as we wish, so expect all manner of different sounds and instruments.
We (The Unwanted) are a three-piece band from Ilkeston, in Derbyshire. We write our own songs, and whilst they aren't one particular genre, we prefer to call our style "sophisticated pop". We are by no means Ilkeston's answer to "S Club 7", nor are we the new "Metallica" of the Midlands.
Our general aim is to make our style of “sophisticated pop” fashionable once again. No longer should people be afraid of liking a song that they can walk down the street and whistle. We write songs with choruses, we write songs that people can dance to, and we write songs about feelings that people can relate to.
Our blend of guitar driven rock, piano based pop, and acoustic ballads could just be what the music scene has been missing.

Ting promotion has been given exclusivety to organise live music nights in a new top venue in Burton-on-trent!
Every thursday the Uba Rooms will be hosting a live music night, starting at 8pm with a host of top bands from around the country and also some acoustic acts chucked in the mix too!!
The night will last till the early hours and will have alot of drinks offers on too helping it make your weekend come a day early!!
