Formed originally as the "BBC Radio Leicester All Stars" to raise funds for the Rainbows children's hospice in Leicestershire, the band was part of BBC Radio Leicester's 40th birthday 'Ruby Rainbow Appeal'.
Highlights include a sell-out BBC birthday gala concert at Leicester's De Montfort Hall with Showaddywaddy and the Glastonbudget tribute band festival.
Relaunched as 'The upBeatles', the band is a caricature of the original Fab Four as they continue on a "Magical Mystery Tour" down "Penny Lane" in celebration of those sounds from the swinging sixties.
While we're always happy to consider private engagements, we remain principally a charity band and play our music for good causes and fun!
Thousands of pounds have been raised through band gigs and charities which have benefitted include: Rainbows, Wish Upon a Star, LOROS, Take Care Nursery, the county Air Ambulance, the Laura Centre, Leicester Children's Holiday Centre, Coping With Cancer and Children in Need.
If you think we might be able to assist your charity, or wish to be included on our mailing list, phone: 07939 571 212 or email: theupbeatles@hotmail.co.uk .
*Note: The upBeatles operate independently of BBC Radio Leicester*
Here we are performing live on BBC TV: "we hope you will enjoy the show..."
