Originally known as the WPPA (Western Pennsylvania Paranormal Association), the group made its name change after investigations started to stretch beyond western PA on a regular basis. Being completely unsatisfied with unorganized random pieces of evidence, the U.P.I.A. holds themselves up to high standards as they take paranormal investigations to a whole new and professional level.
