About me:
We like music. We like people. We're the best open-mic coffeehouse in downtown State College... probably because we're pretty much the only one. We like spoken word, hardcore music, rap, jazz, blues, soul, rock, disco, electronica, poetry, acting, impressions, comedy, tricks, and hanging out. Pretty much anything done with an honest attitude. Heart matters more than stagecraft.
We provide the space, the equipment (amps, drums, soundsystem, etc), the games, the refreshments, the food, and more--for free. You provide the company, the entertainment...and good conversation.
We host a Coffeehouse and Open Mic Nite every other Friday night at 10 p.m. at the Upper Room on Calder Way in State College. Penn State students are welcome to come and hang out or sign up to perform. If you are interested in performing, you can contact tomreigel@gmail.com, or simply show up with a guitar, keyboard, camcorder, canvas, sheet of poetry, or whathaveyou. Or just come hang out. We're pretty cool, not going to lie--and our pad rocks. Welcome!
THE NEXT COFFEEHOUSE:
Doors open at 9:30 p.m.; performances start at 10 on Dec. 4. PLEASE NOTE: This is our only open mic in December.
