The Vagabond Project is a project which has been coming along for quite a while. Gavin Borg has been in the shadows of the local music scene in Malta for over a decade now. Starting off way back (more than he can remember) in, funnily enough, a heavy metal band called Trial By Fate, in collaboration with Malcolm Borg, Konrad Borg and Gianfranco Stellini. Gavin was the vocalist and one of the guitarists in the band. Following the break up of the band, Gavin discovered that electronic music was pretty fascinating and an avenue that was itching to be explored. In 2007 The Vagabond Project released the single, ‘Shine’ which was a hit on the Maltese radio stations, reaching number 8 in XFM’s Top 40. The song was eventually signed to the Australian label Subsonic Records and should be soon distributed to over 71 countries. The Vagabond Project is also an avid remixer and just concluded two tracks for the Australian band, Glovebox. More remixes for international artists are in the pipeline. In September 2008 the single ‘Time of Your Life’ featuring Cor on vocals was released locally and is currently enjoying success on Bay Radio. Watch this space for new music.
