Since 2002,The Vain defies a lot of cliches that wrath over Brazilian indie-rock bands.
From the maniac-depressive influences from the Britpop, Trip-Hop and the 90s American Rock, these six guys from Taubaté (Brazil countryside), displays an energetic, vivid rock, that overflows with irony, without any autocomiseration. Their lyrics are in English and they never mentioned to change that. And the messing dances in the stage, they aren..t exactly what people expect from indie bands they..ve already been called “inconsequent” ‘cos of that.
The truth is – for that tiny things and little details – they pay no mind.
All this were sow giving their souls out in a region fragile in stages for bands that plays their own compositions. The Vain evolved in stage, and that, is their real habitat, place where, they divided great gigs with Nada Surf (USA), Forgotten Boys (Brazil), Sophomore Effort (USA) and Blemish (Brazil) and other great bands.
Now, 2008, they..re releasing the most auspicious project of their lives, their Double-Disc first album, called LET THEM COME in a time where this kind of media is becoming obsolete, they have the courage it takes to make such a release, with twenty-three songs and more than 90 minutes, LET THEM COME resumes their career, it..s the result of a six year prolific work. And, definitely, their passport to the next chapter of their lives, to become a “big band”.
And, for God’s sake, finally a band with true wishes and dreams of change things, to make difference and ready to fight. Let them come! Thank you for visiting!

Na ativa desde 2002, o The Vain desafia um punhado de clichês que acometem as bandas de indie-rock brasileiras.
Das influências potencialmente maníaco-depressivas do britpop, trip-hop e do rock americano dos anos 90, os seis rapazes de Taubaté [no Vale do Paraíba, interior de São Paulo] destilam um rock enérgico, vívido, que jorra ironia por todos os poros, sem nenhum pingo de autocomiseração. As letras são em inglês e eles nunca cogitaram mudar o idioma - mesmo sabendo que essa é a atual ordem-do-dia para ganhar espaço na mídia. As danças desordenadas no palco não são exatamente a postura que mais se espera de uma banda indie e até foram chamados de “inconseqüentes” por isso.
A verdade é que – para esses detalhes e picuinhas – eles não dão a mínima.
