The Valentines are a brighton based band who formed in 2008, consisting of singer Christian Jegard, Bassist Chris Lowe, Guitarists Chris Leader and Danny Curtis, and drummer Carlito's Way. Their plan from the start was to make fun, proper songs that sound like they're sprinkled in Sugar and glitter... to
smash melodies out for everyone to fall in love with/to. They are not lying when they say they have all the power and style of a helicopter. After a handful of gigs in Brighton, the word spread of their energetic live performances - not to mention the catchy hooks and glam-pop melodies. The Observer Music Monthly has already praised them as the "cream of the crop" of new talent, comparing them with Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - on bbc.co.uk reviewer Ryan Morrison had this to say:
