The Varsity Letter is a five-piece pop-punk band from Leonardtown, Maryland. The band consists of Ned Arick, Joe Savage, Matt Jones, Daniel Thompson, and Greg Cooksey. The Varsity Letter was formed back in the earlier months of 2008, and have been playing shows constantly since then. With each show, they reach a new person and thats all that these young men could ask for. After a couple of months worth of shows under their belts, they headed into the studio and recorded a two song demo, which was released in the beginning of 2009. Since the release of the two song demo, The Varsity Letter has begun moving up further to venues in Baltimore, Virginia, and Pennsylvania.
"We want to make music that we enjoy. We are doing that right now and we absolutely love it. Knowing that there are people out there that enjoy our music as much as we do, gives us the best feeling in the world. We can't wait to tour, get out to see the world, and meet a lot of new people along the way."
The Varsity Letter is currently stepping into the studio with Justin Day from New Noise Recordings in Glen Burnie, Maryland. They recorded Lauren, I Could Have Seen This Coming with Mike Bridgett of Hamilton Road Studios. They have finished recording the five songs on the EP entitled This Is Who We've Become and plan to have it out by the end of 2009.
"We're going to be doing a lot of shows to support the release of the new EP. We're going to head to new places and try to expand on our fanbase. We want our music to be heard, and we're willing to go to any lengths to get that done. Thank you for listening."
The Varsity Letter would like to thank Rick Springer, Brittany Herbinko, Lauren Webster, Aditi Promotions, Justin Day, Hamilton Road Studios, Battlefield Drum Company, Actaeon Records, and everyone else who has supported us from the beginning and watched us grow throughout the ups and downs in this band. Without the fans and the people coming to the shows to see us, we would be nothing. So we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
