VIDEO OF 'ESCAPE':
VIDEO OF 'ROCKSTAR':
The Veez: "Ultra normally likes to throw in some left-field surprises on the bill (even featuring The Cure last year), and this year's curve ball is The Veez. The London-reared she-rocking quartet has no fancy gimmicks or novelties, just solid tunes. If the Spice Girls had talent, they still wouldn't be The Veez ladies, who are truly more camera-ready than those old drag queens. And they won't be performing anywhere else during Winter Music Conference."
Miami Times
"A jaw dropping Shay from The Veez played her set in a leather cat suit and boots. Raunchy as ever the male audience come running in to watch the only all girl band that played over the weekend. Feeling empowered on stage they all appear to have good fun and finish off their set with the punk rock chick anthem Rockstar".The Sun, Erin Keohan
"The Veez are a really good all female rock band from London!"XFM Music Response, Steve Harris
"I can't wait to see them live now!"Kerrang Radio 105.2, Tim Shaw
“Incendiary 'Elastica' meets 'Girlschool' rockers"Time Out
“The next great British all-girl group.”The Fly
"The Veez took to the stage next - this all girl group are on the cusp of much greater things. With a sound that ranges from piercing but melodic balads to the sort of jump ready rock that has number one written all over it." BBC Jersey
"When was the last girl-band that looked great, played great and rocked, I mean convincingly.
Exactly. Now welcome to the world of The Veez. We're making the most of their time in our unsigned world
as they are surely destined for greater things.
The vocal edge of Patti Smith and a look of late 70s Blondie about them, Escape is packed with riffs and delivered with attitude." RADIO Caroline
Biog:
Shay, Cath, Catherine and Josephine were THE VEEZ, hailing from London they enjoyed their first gig supporting Hawkwind for over 1000 people, even though the band had only been completed two weeks before and Cath had to borrow a guitar. The crowd loved them so much that Hawkwind asked them to do a string of tour dates across the country, ending at the London Astoria. The Veez then went on to headline The Guardian Stage at Glastonbury, where their compelling performance was seen by Youth (The Verve, Primal Scream), who recorded their EP featuring hit songs – Rockstar, Heart Hoarders & Escape. You can hear Heart Hoarders on the Once Upon Another Time Compilation (featuring The Manic Street Preachers). The Veez continued buzz found themselves supporting The Fratellis (At Jersey Live), The Rakes (Glastonbury 2007), The Holloways (AT KOKO), The Enemy, The Metro Riots, The Mystery Jets (Glastonbury 2008), Kid Harpoon, Wendy James plus others and has since earned them raving reviews in major British and American press. They are no strangers to Radio and were invited to do live sessions and interviews on Resonance 104.4 FM, Kerrang Radio with Tim Shaw and Total Rock Radio with Garry Bushell. The Veez headlined the London City Showcase for two years running and recently saw live footage of their performance at the Artful Festival on National TV. They’re a featured band on Strummerville and were on XFMUploaded which resulted in XFM air play and a performance on the XFM Stage at last years’ Ski Show in Olympia. The EP ‘Rockstar’ is available to buy on itunes now and after their triumphant performance at the Ultra Winter Music Conference Festival in Miami, where they received critical acclaim. The Veez have now moved on to other projects and new dimensions, check out Shay fronting new Krautrock band 1914s.

"When was the last great British all girl group? Kenicki? Elastica? Even both of them had a bloke in them! They may look like they are still in school but the Veez reek of attitude and blow everyone that is here tonight away with their infectious bubblegum punk. The next great British all girl group?"
The Fly, Kirk Burton, August 06
"The Veez were an all-girl 4-piece and when they took to the tiny stage they dispelled any false impression that they were about sweerness and buttercups. With their pop-punk hooks and great choruses they got everyone in the room mesmerised and no more so than the outrageously sexy lead singer, there wasn't a soul in the room who dared take their eyes off of her. She weaved and bobbed along the front while the band brandish terrifyingly infectious riffs, the guitarist looked like she was having the time of her life as the room nodded their heads in tandem to her bubbling solos."
Clash, Lee Puddefoot , July 06, review of the Artful Festival 2005
"Singer Shay can belt out a tune and certainly likes the stage, shaking her money maker and hair along to the spiky guitars and straddling speakers and the like. The entire band were very tight in fact, with new single Rockstar finishing off their raucous set to generous whoops and applause. Further investigating into the band has turfed up the most impressive facts that their first gig was as support to Hawkwind in Bournemouth in 2004 a mere two weeks after the band line up was completed - The ‘wind' were suitably impressed enough to ask The Veez to help complete their tour. Last year they also headlined the Guardian Media Lounge stage at Glastonbury!"
Art Rocker, Todd Terje, The Artful Festival launch party 06
"Femme four piece rock sensation The Veez are faces of the new rock revolution"!
The Mercury, Oct 06
The Veez were one of the highlights of the evening, when their lead singer took to the stage followed by whoops of joy from the testosterone-laden crowd.
Her tousled blonde hair and short black hot pants definitely struck a chord with the audience and she reminded me of a young Debbie Harry.
She had a stage presence which the previous lead singers lacked and was able to belt out a powerful rock set with ease.
