We are in a time where society no longer has anything innovative, hip, or cool. Real music and originality seem to be a thing of the past. Let's not forget "American Idol" stamping out plastic singers in their pop song factory. But now we are on the verge of a cataclysmic event. Earthquakes, buildings crumble; everything is reduced to debris and rubble. Who is this we see emerging from the ruins? Could they be new Rock N Roll Revolutionaries? "The Velvematics" are here to save the world from bubblegum pop music and the same ole' same ole'. Donned in all black leather with their shirt and ties, they look like characters pulled off the screen of a Quinton Tarentino movie. Their sound is like John Lee Hooker jamming with the Yardbirds with the hooky songs like The Kinks or The Romantics. It's in your face larger than life; they know how to rock but haven't forgotten the roll. Formed in 2004 by Singer/Guitarist Jonnie Vincenzo and Bassist Russell Bombik then adding rip roaring guitarist Dave Romweber and Drummer extraordinaire Chris Gibbs The Velvematics are poised to take the world by the throat and bring it to a new Rock N Roll Revolution. Their debut release "Dialectic Materialism" was released in August of 2006 with the intentions of overthrowing the elite. This CD is filled with sounds of both the British Invasion and Blues undertones that you haven't heard since the Yardbirds or as recently the Romantics. This band is set to take over the world and convert everyone into Rock and Roll Revolutionaries! These guys are the sons of Cleveland's Blue Collar worker...they will stop at nothing to get to the TOP!
