ULTIMATE-GUITAR.COM: Feb 2009 - The Venkman Heist qualify as a modern type of classic rock band that has made either a very conscious or subconscious decision as a band to avoid becoming the type of classic rock band that plays anachronistic classic rock songs that sound tired. A classic three-piece...who keep a steady rhythmic force that refuses to stop pounding the listener in the nape.
I cannot help but like the V.H. and implore you to add to the band’s deservedly impressive play count. Just listen to Borrowed Bed.
PLANET SOUND TELETEXT REVIEW by Innes Weir - This Sheffield trio pack a serious, stadium-sized rock punch - and they aren't short of a decent melody either.
Ignore the metal-lite intro and you'll find that their sound, thankfully, is closer to The Datsuns than Def Leppard.
They couldn't claim to have re-invented the wheel with this but the search for a credible, less irritating alternative to Foo Fighters might just start here.

Predictably hard to define, recent claims suggest they sound like the Foo Fighters having sex with Reef in a dodgy motel room whilst U2 listen in with an empty pint of Guinness...Soaring guitar riffs and pounding drums, coupled with classic British melodies!!
