You're a pro at going with the flow
You love to kick back and take in everything life has to offer
A total joy to be around, people crave your stability.
While you're totally laid back, you can have bouts of hyperactivity.
Get into a project you love, and you won't stop until it's done
You're passionate - just selective about your passions
My name's Luke. My old friends call me Tuck. I'm from Bedfordshire but I was born in Hertfordshire and I lived in Cornwall for a bit too.
For the purposes of this page, I'm a singer/songwriter, playing in an Americana/folk/country style called The Venkman Project. However, this is a mere bit on the side, as my main interest is playing drums in a ruddy bloody good band with three of my bestest buddies called The Whybirds, and therefore I only do solo gigs occasionally. I've also been known to fill in on drums for Sulfer and Sister Ray (you should check them out in my friends list, they're great).
Here's a couple of nice reviews of some of my gigs:
25/11/06, Martin Stapleton, Bedford Esquires: "The Venkman Project is swiftly developing into an Esquires acoustic nugget. It's his bourbon-seasoned voice which has such a rich deep feel that I am warming to, it sounds much older than his younger face. The very Dylanesque 'My Darling England' tugs at the heart while leaving a big lump in the throat, while '(Lord Knows) I'm A Bad Man' brings to mind a mental picture of all those spaghetti westerns of years ago."
18/02/07, Bedford Jamlounge (RIP):
"The main act of the evening was Luke, drummer with the Whybirds, and solo artist hawking his trade under the flag 'The Venkman Project' (as in Peter Venkman, the charater Bill Murray played in Ghostbusters). Luke is a real pro on stage and is one of those musicians who appears absolutely comfortable in his own skin. He has a modern Bruce Springsteen style, quite folky, his voice has a tuneful husk to it, very compelling.
"Luke has a range of really good original songs, mostly about pain, love and (in his words) God kicking him in the bollocks. He has no strain in his style of singing at all which makes it really easy to listen to, I must say I was completely absorbed. Very enjoyable and perfect for the Jamlounge."
And here's a not-so-nice one (but I still quite like it):
20/10/06, Karen Jones, Bedford Esquires:
"The first band on tonight were The Venkman Project. I missed the start of this 'cos I was watching Eastenders. Less of a band, more of a bloke with a guitar really. And a harmonica (these are the work of the devil). Also did a Bruce Springsteen cover. That should be enough information to tell if it's your sort of thing. Not mine."

That Benjo on the Manjo is a good'un. I only heard it for the first time yesterday. It was like Christmas. But without the turkey. Obviously. See you tomorrow night at the Grafton. I'm making a rare appearance as a punter. I'll be down the front shouting for your hotel room number. Although, I've always thought Dave was the looker in your band. Dreamy. N.
Check out the new spec at Lost Boys Studio. It's pretty impressive. Any artists/ bands enquiries, shout me on the contacts at the bottom. Rock On............

Hello Tuck. Welcome to the wonderful world of MOU, a band run by "special people" for "special people". I bet we're the best shit band on your site. You'll have to come and see a gig. It's quite entertaining spending the evening trying to work out why a band would even WANT to sound like that. I still have no idea. Nick.

Hey dude. I feel violated. In response to your question, yeah I am definately up for doing the jam lounge thing on Thursday. Do they get many people in the door? If by the jaw-dropper you mean "when we were thirteen" I might have it up my sleeve...not sure if i've got a decent recording of it.
The Venkman Project (Luke), music is the meaning of our life !
"I feel like I can build an entire town today
Am I the only one on the shelf
I feel like I can build an empire in a day
But I can’t make it all by myself"
"Until the end of times" SUUN
