What is Gypsybilly™?

A new album...the first ever GYPSYBILLY™ album is now finished! The whole CD is now available at CD Baby and MP3s on iTunes (other major digital distributors to follow soon). Brilliant hearts and minds contributed to the birth of the first-ever Gypsybilly™ album…Bernie Dresel on drums, who has worked with international singers and musicians such as, Brian Setzer, Ray Charles, Christina Aguilera, B.B.King, Gordon Goodwin’s Big Phat Band; John “Spazz” Hatton on King Doublebass, who played with Brian Setzer, Bob Dylan, Dolly Parton, Elvis Presley, Carmen Mc Rae; Grammy Award winner Charlie Bisharat on violin who can be heard on Rod Stewart, Elton John, Rascal Flatts, Sheryl Crow and Strunz & Farah recordings.
The album also features the sleek pedal steel playing of Chris Allen Burke and the sensitive accordion touch of Gigi Lynn Rabe, the mixing expertise of two-time Grammy Award winner Anton Pushansky (Santana, Ozomatli), the engineering greatness of Frank Rosato (Robben Ford, Steve Lukather, Sheryl Crow), and David Williams of Melrose Mastering for the final touch.

There is currently a search for two types of bands for record label consideration.
*** Note: PLEASE IDENTIFY IF YOU ARE IN GROUP 1 OR 2 IN THE SUBJECT LINE OF YOUR RESPONSE. Emails are being reviewed by different representatives.
1. A Pop/Rock/Commercial band with female lead. Band must consist of 2 guitars (Prefer both guitar players to be of lead caliber. However, one lead and one rhythm is acceptable), keyboard/piano, bass, and drums. Lead vocal, followed by backing vocals, in that order, is a plus as it relates to other members of the group. Average age of the band cannot exceed 28 years of age.
* Group must have an outstanding lead vocalist. ** Musicianship throughout the entire band must be very strong. *** Group cannot currently be under any contract of any type that is related to the music industry.
2. A Modern Rock band with male lead. Must be a complete band but there are no prerequisites as it relates to the make up of the band. Average age of the band cannot exceed 23 years of age.
* Group must have an outstanding lead vocalist. ** Musicianship throughout the entire band must be very strong. *** Group cannot currently be under any contract of any type that is related to the music industry.
XXX - If you meet the minimum qualifications as described above. Email a link for your MySpace Page and if applicable, a link for your website to: recordingartistsearch@gmail.com
Only send one email with your links. Due to the volume of responses normally received for these types of opportunities. After review of your material, you will only be contacted if there is an interest in attending one of your shows by a label representative. As such please to not send any follow up emails regarding selections. If you were not contacted back, there was not an interest.
Thank You.

"Ticklin' The Strings" by Sweet Hollywaiians
Amazing Japanese hot string band playing 1920's, 30's, 40's style hawaiian, swing, calypso, blues, italian music and originals, featuring vintage instruments.3 songs with Robert Armstrong and Tony Marcus(from Robert Crumb and His Cheap Suit Serenaders)
"The Sweet Hollywaiians have probably the best feel for this 20's music of any string band working today. They manage the rare feat of sounding relaxed even when their playing is hot, are top notch musicians with tasteful arrangements and a full, rich, warm sound.Plus, they have a nice gamut of tunes, from King Nawahi to Giovanni Vicari to Bobby Leecan. See them live, if you can, for an unforgettable experience. If you can't, buy their Cds!" ~ Terry Zwigoff
