The Vigours live shows have gained a great deal of attention over the past 18 months. Starting out in their native North London at The Archway Tavern, they’ve bossed the London circuit, headlining at Barfly, Dublin Castle ands 93 Ft East and have been further afield than your average unsigned band - with gigs across the UK provinces and a tour of South Korea, culminating in a barn-storming set at the Juncheon JIMFF Festival in Korea last summer.
The quality of their live shows is the foundation of their critical acclaim, they were the first ever unsigned band to appear on The Word Magazine covermount and seem to have the support of Channel 4 Music via Hollyoaks and having their music used as the soundbed for an award winning series of docu-dramas on More 4.
THE VIGOURS in HOLLYOAKS
How funny is this?
NICE THINGS PEOPLE HAVE SAID
"There is something special about them that patently hints of future megastardom. You might want to do yourself a favour and catch them live now before they explode." E. L Pollard, BBC
"the most popular unsigned band in the country" Channel 4 Music
“If Clem Burke of Blondie saw The Vigours he’d almost certainly think, ‘God alive, when it comes to being THE internationally-recognised master of the pop-rock tub-thump, I rather fear this imposter Morrisroe has stolen my thunder!’” Mark Ellen, Editor, The Word Magazine
"Plenty of bands know how to rock a nice suit, but not many can match it with suavity of songwriting like this. When they’re not conjuring up The Only Ones, The Beat, Cheap Trick or The Who, they’re sounding like closing time in the dive bar at the back of your mind. With anthems to illuminate life’s darkest corners, the power of the pogo and a well-turned spiv’s wardrobe, The Vigours are the band London has been waiting for." Andrew Harrison, Editor, MIXMAG
"The harmony arrangements and performances on this track are truly amazing - so much so, if it were recorded around the same time as Pet Sounds, it might have been another contributing factor towards Brian Wilson’s nervous breakdown." Dean Sharp, Red Griffin Records
"Despite being currently unsigned, the audience was packed with fans that knew all the words and lordy, this lot have indie anthems to SPARE." Jody Thompson, TuneTribe.com
"The Vigours seemed to bring the audience together with a sense of community. All unknown but all ended up shaking our booty together to these boys. I want to be doing this again in the sunshine at the festivals this summer.
What a pheasant surprise. Go watch them." David Harrison, musictowers.com
The Vigours were named as one of the top dozen bands to watch in 2007 by Channel 4 Slash Music Editor

I look to you when I need to find away to let my inner feelings show, when words are rushing quietly through my mind like a beautiful river as it flows. Holding you in my arms I move my fingers up and down your neck, I plug you in just to turn you on while deciding on the perfect effect. Finding within us the message to awaken their awaiting senses, while making them believe they're walking through lush green meadows, maybe being surrounded by little white fences. As I touch and move your strings you respond with the magic of your caressing sound, inspiration is lending itself from every direction, only needing me to be aware of what we together may have found. Speak to me easy my six string image of beauty, let me hear yet another dream that will share someone else's weight that they alone are still trying to carry.... ~Nick Nichols~ Have a great day my talented friends, enjoy the poem I wrote.... Many miles of smiles to you, ~Nick~
