The Players and The Plays

The Village Players are a registered not-for-profit organization

We have been producing plays for over 6 decades.  We do 4 regular season productions, with 8 showings. New in the 2008/2009 season will be the addition of another Sunday Matinee showing per production.. Our season runs October through June. In addition, we offer benefits to groups and organizations. We also have some form of a summer production (one-acts, children's theater, dramatic readings) that runs one or two weekends. A list of our past productions can be found here.

Our plays are usually a comedy, drama, mystery, or a farce. During our intermission we have beverages (coffee, water, iced tea, lemonade) and a snack item. The concessions are donation only. We also hold a 50/50 raffle during intermission.

Performance times are:
Friday and Saturday evening: 8pm
Sunday matinees: 2pm
Doors to the theater open 30 minutes before show time to purchase tickets. Season ticket holders do not have to wait in the ticket line and may enter when the doors open.

The box office at the theater is open on show nights only. However, you may reserve seats by calling the reservation line hours at 215-675-6774. The reservation line is automated and cannot be checked past 5:30pm on show nights. We cannot guarantee reservations left after 5:30pm on show nights. At the present time we DO NOT accept reservations via e-mail. Please follow the directions on the reservation line to reserve your seats. Tickets are will call only and will be held at the box office to be picked up on the night of the show you chose. Payment will be accepted before the show. We accept cash, checks or money orders. Sorry we do not accept credit/debit cards.

Season tickets are available for Friday and Saturday night performances. Sorry, we do not offer season tickets for Sunday matinees. Season tickets allow you to choose and reserve your seat for one performance per play per the regular four play season (October thru June). Season tickets are sold year round, by mail and in person during the June play performances. Season tickets are discounted off the regular tickets price. Not only are you allowed to choose your seat when you purchase the tickets, you also do not have to wait in line to enter the theater on show night.

Membership includes one free ticket to one show per production of the season and you can be on a committee, such as reading committee, production, house and grounds, publicity, etc.  We have board meetings every second Tuesday of the month and General Membership meetings every third Wednesday of the the months between September through June. Meetings are held at the theater at 7:30pm.

The Theatre

Our venue is a renovated dairy barn that dates back to the early 1800s.  Our theatre is a smoke-free facility that can seat 186 patrons per show. We are handicap accessible as well. There is on site and street parking available. We have restroom facilities available.
