10 things you need to know about Norwegian rock act the Vineyards:
1. The Vineyards is said to be one of the most promising rock acts in Norway, according to Norways biggest newspaper, VG
2. The Vineyards debut album, Hoggin all the Action, was released by label REC 90 (Magnet, Lorraine, Poor Rich Ones) in january 2006 in Norway and in continental Europe in july/august. To most people, this is a really good thing!
3. The videotape for the song Shuffle no. 2 is playlisted on Norwegian national television (NRK), and MTV and ZTV Norway. The band has also appeared live on TV on several occasions. The Norwegian people, needless to say, find this quite pleasing.
4. Hoggin all the Action is produced by Kalle Gustafson, of The Soundtrack of our Lives fame, and recorded in his cosy studio, Svenska Grammofonstudion in Gothenburg. The band found this experience rewarding, although the studio at times was rather cold and damp.
5. Several songs from Hoggin all the Action and the EP Good Rock for Good People are aired on radio in Norway and several European countries.
6. Several songs are also featured in four French surf/skate/BMX films. The band, however, has not earned one Norwegian krone, nor any amount in any currency (including Euros), due to this.
7. The EP Good Rock for Good People (2005) was also released by REC 90, and received a fair amount of good press in Norway and internationally.
8. The Vineyards always pleases the crowd. Most of the time, the crowd pleases the Vineyards. The Vineyards has also supported (to much acclaim) bands like Mando Diao, The Soundtrack of Our Lives and The (International) Noise Conspiracy (all of which are from Sweden).
9. The Vineyards have played extensively in Norway. Also, the bands first appearance in London was recommended by Time Out and the newspaper Evening Standard. Nice.

Yes, I managed to miss the release of the first PoP single since I joined the band (and my first single release ever!), but that's what happens when you're in the middle of the north Atlantic, running around in viking clothes.
