The band who kicked off the night were a bouncy pop/indie band called The Vision - a seemingly typical four-piece with an extremely catchy set of tunes. Some good lyrics, such as "Jealousy never got anyone anywhere" were awesome. The drummer is a definite showman, and has a good sense of style in his black fedora and woolly scarf (on the hottest day of the year so far!). With elements of The Jam, The Clash, and undoubtedly Oasis, this band has gone down really well with many of the uninitiated, plus their volley of fans singing along at full voice throughout. A great start to the night!
'Don't Try To Be Me' - an innovative, powerful and somewhat unique piece of pop music! The bass and drum work are excellent, and the guitar part blends seamlessly into the body of the track; really making the song what it is. The vocals float superbly over the top of it all, with some well judged harmonies are really gutsy feeling. The little additions - like the tambourine - really give the song a distinct voice, and I was greatly impressed! I really enjoyed this.
THE VISION- The Vision are a four piece indie/rock band from the South Coast of England, a melodic mix of indie/rock with catchy chorus's and strong hooks, influenced by Oasis, the Beatles and the Kooks, fusing together to make their own style. Get involved!
