"Country harmonies and psychedelic melodies with otherworldly lyrics sound heavenly, but a line like “Nothing fucks you up like the truth” brings you back down quick. This six-song disc firmly places Vision as one of the best groups in town."
- San Diego City Beat
"These six songs compose a mini-suite, with the songs segueing into each other quite nicely; and at 16½ minutes in length, it says everything it needs to and not a note more. Even the "freak out" bits, like the crazy horn parts near the end of "Skelephone Call", are well-placed and concise. This record just goes to show that psych-pop masterpieces need not be epics!" (rating 6/6)
- Indie Pages
"The guitars and rhythms strike out country and western on speed. Chasing the bad guys across the southwest in a posse of full galloping horses, the bass is driven by hooks, vocals, and the devil."

"...eerily beautiful."
- Independent Clauses
"The Vision of a Dying World is back with yet another album of acoustic, post-apocalyptic, carnival campfire music for fans of Okkervil River and The Danielson Famile. Another album showcasing their clever and idiosyncratic mix of folk and pop that is not entirely unrivaled, yet strangely difficult to pin down. With four impressive releases in the last three years, these California boys are destined for a life of financial success and public esteem beyond their wildest fantasies."
- 75 or Less
"...among the best moments of San Diego's current scene." (rating 8.29411 out of 10)

"...this enigmatic band is able to quietly and subtly turn even the most tragic experience into something harmonious and inspirational." (rating 7.3/10)
- 30 Music
"A masterful album."
- San Diego Reader
"An instant classic."
- Smother
"What You Are To Be You Now Become shows off jeremy scott and jackson milgaten's impressive songwriting abilities, and comes off as one of those records that seems more brief and fleeting than it actually is. (rating 8/10)
- Indieville
our 1st full length; $10
"Feelin' Alive sweeps its listener through twilit seascapes and chimerical dream vistas into goofy romps and touching introspections, from crowded cities to lonely rooms, from abstract prophecy to confidential confessions. Equal parts revelry and revelation, it manages the riotous energy of the kaleidoscopic and the carnivalesque while avoiding the gawdy pitfalls of either in a wicked binge of mostly acoustic sound." (rating 4.2/5)
- Silent Uproar
"...one of the best releases to come out of San Diego since the Castanets’ Cathedral. Peppier and busier than Samuel Beam’s material, the songs are closer to Sufjan Stevens’ busy compositions and nearly as masterful as Black Heart Procession when it comes to off-kilter vocals that sound not quite of this earth."
- San Diego City Beat

Let's face it. No one is ever around for us poor kids who grew up with summer birthdays. Well, not this year. Hockey, the greatest band on Earth (www. myspace. com/hockey) my dear friends are playing a spectacular show at Cinespace in Hollywood and you all must be there. All I can say is excellent show and excellent people starting around 8pm and ending when I wake the next morn. Lars probably knows of some seedy underground Domino's tourney or French-Thai fusion restaurant/bowling/fire juggling festival or something equally insane and off the wall that night but I'll wait till he gets back to me on that.
