    Press
"Clearly influenced by indie rock from the past two decades, the outfit also draws inspiration from some of the more ambitious pop music of the '60s for [their] lush melodies and beautiful harmonies..."
-Tom Murphy, Westword, Critic's Choice (January, 17th-23rd 2007)

"...The Visitors encompass a goulash of different genres from the last three decades of popular music..."

"an exciting blend of music... a gripping mix of vocal harmonies along with some wicked hooky guitar..."
-Doug Newville, Colorado Music Buzz, On The Download (December, 2007)

Voted one of Denver's top underground bands of 2007.
-Prepared by Ricardo Baca and voted on by 104 local-music experts and selected citizens, The Denver Post (August 8th, 2007)

    Biography

With the release of the highly anticipated EP “The Edge of the World” (June, 2006), Denver has enthusiastically welcomed The Visitors onto the scene. Led by Steve Dodd (piano, guitar) and Chris Laughlin (guitar), their haunting vocal harmonies give The Visitors a uniquely salient sound. Supported by Shea Sweeney (bass) and Joe Vaccarelli (drums), The Visitors feature some of the best talent in Denver.

The Visitors is a mix of your favorite band from the 90s and your favorite band from the 60s. Their eclectic offerings of driving rock and mellow pop songs are truly evocative of such dynamic bands as the Smashing Pumpkins and Radiohead with classic influence reminiscent of the Beatles and the Doors.

The centerpiece of The Visitors’ sound is their unique vocal harmonies. Together with driving guitars and versatile piano, they fuse the originality of indie rock with a pop feel you would hear on the radio.

Formed in 2001, The Visitors’ are a fixture of Denver. They have carved their place into the Denver scene by playing with national acts such as Plain White T’s, Man Man, and Death From Above 1979, as well as several local acts including Hello Kavita, Bop Skizzum and All Capitals.

The Visitors’ continue to promote their EP, inviting fans to join them while expanding their Denver following with appearances at both high-visibility clubs and more intimate venues, wielding an urge to take on the statewide scene and beyond.

Well guys,

I went to almost every one of your shows and that last one was the best. I wanted to let you know it was a privilege having you practice in my basement. I’m going to miss that and being the first to hear your new stuff.

You all have a lot of talent and determination. Whether you use these attributes toward music or other endeavors, I am sure you will each be successful.

Good luck and keep in touch, especially with each other.
