Andrew (Lead Vocals). Audiences who have heard Andrew during live performances are always impressed by his ability to capture the vocal style, song nuances, and energy of the original artists. Andrew also plays guitar (favoring Rickenbackers) and sings lead vocals in The Trips, another Memphis band.
Skip (Lead Guitar). A retired United States Air Force Officer and Army Soldier who served in Vietnam, Skip played for bands in Florida that opened for national acts that were touring. He also played during his military career. His respect for 60s music is evident both in his guitar playing and his never-ending ability to recite facts and figures about the bands and music of the 60s.
Will (Keyboards and Guitar). In addition to being accomplished in both keyboards and guitar, Will is an expert at sound and recording. He captures the mood of the 60s perfectly as shown by his keyboards in Incense and Peppermints by The Strawberry Alarm Clock and his driving guitar work in I'll Feel A Whole Lot Better by The Byrds.
Frank (Bass). The youngest member of the band, Frank is the most experienced live performer who also has tour experience. Frank brings a solid background in rock music and plays the songs of the 60s like he was a baby boomer. His strong bass playing really comes out in song like We Gotta Get Out of this Place by The Animals and She's Not There by The Zombies.
Craig (Drums). A retired U.S. Marine, Craig was moved by what he saw on The Ed Sullivan Show in February 1964 and started bothering his parents for drum lessons. He played in bands both prior to and during his Marine Corps career. Craig's favorite drummer is Ringo Starr. As Craig would say "Ringo Starr changed forever the way rock n' roll drums were played."
Influences
The great bands of the 60s from both sides of the pond: The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Byrds, The Yardbirds, The Zombies, The Animals, Paul Revere and the Raiders, The Rascals, Gerry and the Pacemakers, and other bands from the 1960s like The McCoys, The Gentrys, The Strawberry Alarm Clock, The Swingin' Medallions, Gary Lewis and The Playboys, and The Kingsmen.
The Vynals are a 60s rock cover band from Memphis, TN, specializing in high-energy "rock shows" featuring top 60s hits from both sides of the pond. They are professional and reliable, and play songs note for note. The Vynals have five musicians, Andrew (lead vocals), Skip (lead guitar), Will (keyboards and guitar), Frank (bass) and Craig (drums) from various parts of the country who have come together in Memphis, Tennessee through job transfer or retirement and formed The Vynals. Andrew, Skip, Will, and Craig are boomers who were greatly influenced by the great rock music that came from the 60s, both in the United States and Great Britain. Frank (bass), although a generation younger than the rest of the band is an experienced musician from the Detroit, Michigan area who was drawn to 60s music like the baby boomers before him: because it is great.
