The Walk Boston's Blurbs |
About me:
Great News!!!
The official date for the Boston Walk is Saturday, January 24, 2009! Once again, we apologize for the change of date and any inconveniences that may have caused. We hope to see you on The Walk: Boston!
"A journey to awareness, to action, and to hope."
December 1st was World Aids Day, but the reality is, AIDS affects lives everyday. Please join us on a one mile wintery walk through Boston Common on January 24th, 2009 to raise money and awareness for AIDS in Africa. $1 will be donated for every person who walks a mile with us. We will be meeting outside the Visitor’s Center (which is located near the Park Street T station).
Visit www.takethewalk.net for more information on this cause and to set up your own walk!
*Hot chocolate will be provided* This is a Snow or Shine event. Please bring friends and spread the word!!
"Take The Walk is about giving you simple tangible ways to take action against the HIV/AIDS pandemic and poverty in Africa. A small donation, the purchase of a pair of shoes, the download of a song or simply taking a one-mile walk...
Together we can realize our potential to impact the lives of those less fortunate than ourselves, creating partnership for the future and facing today’s greatest challenges, one action at a time. The real difference happens when you begin, when you decide to move from awareness to action.
Take The Walk.
Our Goals
To walk around the world - 24,902 miles." - From www.takethewalk.net
