The Walls were formed from the ashes of 'The Stunning' by brothers Steve and Joe Wall in 1998. They started their own record label Dirtbird Records and released a string of singles as well as their first album 'Hi-Lo' in 2000. It went Gold in Ireland on the back of good airplay and constant touring. Their second album 'New Dawn Breaking' went Top 5 in 2005. "Their best work to date"-according to The Sunday Times. The Walls have supported the likes of U2, Bob Dylan and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers as well as touring regularly at home and abroad.
In March 2006 they went to the United States where they played to packed houses in New York, LA and Austin Texas as part of the SXSW Music festival. KCRW’s Nic Harcourt has been playing tracks from the album and invited the band to perform a live session on his show “Morning Becomes Eclectic”.
In Nov 2007 the band made their first trip to Australia where they supported Crowded House and promoted the release of New Dawn Breaking on MGM.
Steve and Joe have also re-released albums on Dirtbird Records by their former band The Stunning and have undertaken major tours that have propelled the band back into one of the biggest live draws in the country. The Stunning only tour every two years.
The Walls are currently putting the finishing touches to their third album which will be released in 2010.

What a lurverly surprise! Oh yes I have listened to Wilco. back in the day. They're quite good. It's a rainy September day down here atm, so I've been listening to some Kate Miller-Heidke (if you get a chance, check her out. She's quirky and so very talented).
I cannot wait to hear the new album. i was actually going to listen to New Dawn Breaking this morning but it was too dreary outside. That's one of my fav CD's so no need to ruin the mood with bad weather!
Keep me updated on this album and I hope a good label shows some sense and picks it up!!!
Cheers for the add - Great sounds lads, hope you like mine too:)! Good luck & all the best from Paul:)! (Have you seen our live gig film about Irish 'Molly Brown':)?
I have been put through to the next round with m song Fireworks and Streamers in the Australian Songwriter of the Year awards! I'm really excited, even just to have progressed :-)
I hope you guys aren't working too hard, now!!! Stll listening to your albums here in Oz. And still love them. Hurrah for iPods so I can listen on the go!
Hi THE WALLS, I Draw Slow are playing The Cobblestone, Smithfield in Dublin on Wednesday 24th June, supported by the amazing Thomas Kitt. Doors are at 8.30 and admission is €10, a small price to pay to see the citys two premier acoustic acts don't you agree? On the off chance you disagree, come down on wednesday next to the Cobblestone, Smithfield Dublin and we'd be happy to discuss it.
Hope to see you this Thursday (8pm onwards) at Eamonn Dorans. Check out the bands links on our page, all of them hand-picked for their live performance. We recommend that you get there early.
Every cent of the €5 on the door goes to Oxfam. Cheers!
